⚠ Know Your Electricity Supplier
First Point Power, LLC. is the designated third-party electricity supplier for Lawrence Energy Choice (LEC) participants. If your electricity bill shows that you are enrolled with a different third-party supplier, carefully evaluate your situation before switching to LEC.
Some third-party suppliers charge a termination fee for leaving a contract early. Read your contract or contact your current supplier to determine whether termination fees apply to you. LEC wants you to avoid any surprise fees resulting from early termination.
Massachusetts Attorney General reports from 2018 and 2021 documented aggressive sales tactics and false promises from the third-party supplier industry. Nine years of data show that Massachusetts residents paid over $651 million more than necessary through individually-signed competitive supply contracts — with Gateway City residents, including Lawrence, disproportionately targeted.
LEC is a state-approved City program that uses the City’s collective buying power to secure competitive electricity rates. While savings cannot be guaranteed month-to-month, the goal is sustained lower costs over the life of the program.
- Predictable Bills — Protection against seasonal rate spikes.
- Long-Term Value — Negotiated for sustained savings over time.
- Verified & Secure — A City-vetted alternative to individually-solicited third-party contracts.
